About Dubai Police General HQ

Dubai Police Force was established on 01 June 1956 and was the first Arab police force to use GPS and to apply patrol location technique, ahead of many European and American forces. It is chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum.

Architecture

  • Horizontally scalable ingestion tier sized for national commercial-vehicle volumes.
  • Spatial and temporal queries to reconstruct which assets were near a location at a point in time.
  • Command channel for remote actions on supported devices, with authorisation and audit on every command.

Implementation

  • A Find'n'Secure demonstration with Embarc technical support helped the local system integrator win the contract.
  • Delivered jointly by Embarc and the integrator, implementing every requirement raised.
  • A traffic module was planned so the RTA could predict road traffic and broadcast advisories to drivers over FM radio.

Results

  • A platform sized for national commercial-vehicle coverage rather than a departmental pilot.
  • Accident vicinity reconstruction available from recorded telemetry.
  • Driver behaviour and theft response handled in one system.
